I am directed by the Secretary of State for Colonies to inform you that he approves the proposal that cash deposits in Mexican Dollars or other silver coins current among the Chinese for "Sycee" should not in future be accepted as part of the deposit against the Note issue of Hongkong & Shanghai Banking Corporation.
